Electrical acupunture involves the application of electrical stimulation directly to acupuncture points. This is performed by attaching leads connected to an electroacupuncture machine to needles that are already in place. An appropriate setting on the machine will be used depending on the condition being treated, resulting in continuous stimulation without pain.
The primary advantage of using this technique is fewer and/or less frequent treatments are required due to the increased effectiveness of each treatment.
Electroacupuncture is used for a variety of conditions, including pain relief and internal medicine disorders, and paresis/paralysis.
