Important Update: Due to the safety of our team, we are no longer able to make appointments for dogs that have aggressive tendencies. This includes dogs that are fear aggressive and/or territorial. It is best that these pets are seen at a full-service veterinary hospital where heavy sedation is an option.

In-Home Euthanasia

Losing your beloved companion is the most difficult part of being an animal owner.

Unfortunately, though, dogs and cats have lifespans that are much shorter than our own, and the time to say goodbye almost always comes much sooner than we’d like. When our pets become unable to enjoy a decent quality of life due to illness, injury, or advancing age, sometimes having them humanely put to sleep is the kindest option.

At Total Quality Mobile Veterinary Care, we provide compassionate in-home euthanasia in Raleigh, NC and the surrounding communities.

What to Expect

With in-home euthanasia, you can say your goodbyes and spend the last few moments with your pet in the comfort and privacy of your own home. This is less stressful for both you and your companion.

During your pet’s appointment, we will examine them to help you determine whether euthanasia is the best choice. We will make sure you are fully aware of your pet’s current health and prognosis, but we will not push you into any decision you are not comfortable with. If you decide to go ahead with the procedure, your pet will be given a sedative that relaxes them into a deep sleep. This is done to make your pet comfortable and make sure they do not feel any fear or anxiety.

Once the sedative has taken effect and you feel that you are ready, we will administer the euthanasia medication and let you know when your pet has passed. You are welcome to stay by your pet’s side throughout the entire procedure, and we will give you as much time to say goodbye as you need.

Afterward, we can help with aftercare as needed. We can provide transportation for cremation services for pets up to 65 lbs.  If the pet exceeds 65 lbs we will recommend that you make arrangements with a local crematorium for transportation. We offer both private and group cremation services for a nominal fee.
